"If you think you are beaten even before the battle begins, chances are you can never win."
Do you know YUVA was a true story of a guy called George Reddy from Osmania University? Lecturers were afraid to teach because they weren't confident they could answer his questions, he was outstanding. Apart from being academically brilliant he was a prominent student leader and everyone was sure he would win a seat in the assembly. George Reddy fought against the politically powered devils & bureaucrats, to every one’s shock George Reddy was killed by activists (another student group and inner organization of a political party). This happened around mid 80’s. Students who were all educated in and around Osmania University limits know about the war of George Reddy.
George Reddy was the founder of the Revolutionary Students Movement in Andhra Pradesh. He was a student of the Osmania University and was the university gold medalist, a mark of academic excellence.
He was the founder of the Progressive Democratic Students Union, which was a student body on the campus of Osmania University, and is now the student wing of the Communist Party Of India(Marxist) New Democracy.
Reddy was murdered on campus by the Jan Sangh sympathizers within sight of the police.
George Reddy is the inspiration for the lead character Michael (Surya) in the movie YUVA and Aayitha Ezhuthu, by Maniratnam.
